This is one of my favorite blogs to write all year long. I really do like the New Year’s holiday quite a bit. Although, I struggle with the actual night mainly because when I was in California, I used to celebrate on NY time (aka justify going to bed at 9pm). Now that I live in the NY time zone, all hope is lost. I sit looking at the Christmas tree, drinking Trader Joe’s apple cider, pondering life… and bedtime. Overall, I’m a pretty contemplative kinda person. I like things that give me a reason to revamp, think through and take a fresh start on life. New Year’s is all about reflecting, being incredibly thankful and looking at what the future holds.
I’ll keep this relatively brief, but I cannot, cannot close my year out without saying thank you to the most incredible clients a wedding photographer could ask for. I feel like so many things happened this year and I have so much to be grateful for. But at the top of that list, without a doubt, is the INCREDIBLE people I’ve had the opportunity to work with. I am continually amazed at the amazing people that have approached me to photograph their weddings, significant moments, and their families. I honestly don’t know that this is everyone’s experience, but I feel like every client I meet, I am more blown away by the entirely cool, kind human beings out there. I am so thankful to you.
The second group of people I need to shout out for is the INCREDIBLE vendor friends I’ve connected with this year. I’ve been blessed since I stepped into the West Palm area with some beautiful people, but this year I feel like I’m finding more and more of ‘my people’. They’re everywhere around here in the creative world and it seems they may all be photographers, videographers, wedding planners, floral designers, artists and the like. I have met, hung out and laughed with so many fantastically creative and genuinely good people this year. To each creative entrepreneur who decided it was worth putting yourself out there and forging relationships with others on the same journey, I am grateful.
The third group of people I need to lay on the floor and hug their feet is my fantastic, fantastic team. Those that shoot with me, proofread, chat with clients and post things. To those that carry bags, hold the ICE light (and fight over it). To everyone who has laid a hand to help Dragonfly Photography be what it is on this side of the world. You guys are epic. I am so thrilled to know you and drink coffee with you.
Although there were many, many moments that were too fantastic to count this last year, here are a few of my very favorite images.
Thanks for being along for the ride, so much love my friends. Here’s to 2017. Enjoy.
