Truss Cleveland Wedding

Cleveland, Ohio

summer

The first time I talked with the bride, she told me she had been dreaming about her wedding day for years. You could hear the excitement in her voice. She hadn’t even chosen a venue or a date yet, but we clicked immediately. She told me about her vision, the things she cared about, and how she and her fiancé were planning to bring something entirely different together by celebrating their Jordanian and Scottish heritage.

One of my favorite things about multicultural weddings is how you can take two completely different parts of the world and bring them together. D wanted something that highlighted the importance of her family’s traditions, but also honored C’s Scottish heritage, with much of his family traveling from Scotland to participate. Bringing those two things together might feel like a contrast, but like any great design, contrasts pull together beautifully.

From the moment guests arrived at Truss, it was clear this would be something extraordinary. A sculptural tree installation welcomed everyone into the space. Overhead, show-stopping floral and fruit installations by Molly Taylor and Co. transformed the ceiling – layers of texture, color, and abundance that completely reimagined the room.

One of my favorite moments of the entire event was watching D walk in and see the room for the first time. She kept saying, “I can’t wait for everybody else to see this. This is so fun. I can’t wait for everybody else to enjoy this.”

The sound of bagpipes paid tribute to C’s Scottish heritage, while the energy of Dabke filled the dance floor, pulling everyone in and turning tradition into shared joy. One of my favorite moments was watching some of the Scottish cousins dancing their hearts out to the Dabke. Rather than separating cultures, each element flowed seamlessly into the next, creating a celebration that felt unified and deeply personal.

As the night continued, the rooftop pulsed with laughter, movement, and connection. Family and friends didn’t simply attend – they participated, dancing beneath the installations and celebrating in a space designed to hold meaning.

I loved watching D get the day of her dreams. Her celebration was every bit what she wanted it to be, and seeing that happen in real time was pretty amazing. It was a wedding rooted in heritage, elevated by the bride’s vision, and brought to life by Noteworthy Events.
