Shaker Country Club Wedding

S and J’s wedding was a homecoming. Both are Cleveland natives, and after years in New York and a recent move to Chicago, they chose to be married where their story began. The ceremony took place at St. Ann Church, a place that is less a venue than a family’s home. Generations of S’s family have walked its halls, attended its school, and gathered at its altar, and a Catholic ceremony with a dedication to Mary made the day feel rooted in everything that came before it.

The day moved with a “Palm Beach chic” ease. Blue, white, green, and pale pink carried through the details, black tie optional attire kept things polished, and the Shaker Heights Country Club gave the evening a classic, elegant backdrop. Portraits at the Cleveland Museum of Art brought a quieter, more intimate energy, with room to simply be two people who had just gotten married. All day long, the wedding party and guests traveled together by bus, which kept everyone in the same story from the first moment to the last.

What S and J wanted most was to be in a room with every person who mattered to them, feeling carefree, well rested, and full of happiness. They got exactly that. Families met for the first time, old friends traveled in, and the day unfolded without a hint of rush. It was joyful, emotional, and entirely theirs.
