A Traditional Indian Celebration

Designed by the incredibly talented team at SoCo Events, every space felt intentional without feeling overdone. Outdoors for much of the celebration, where the light and the color and the energy of everyone gathered did exactly what they’re supposed to do.

D & R’s Haldi was just pure joy. The most beautiful day, surrounded by their favorite people. Bright yellow everywhere, laughter from everyone and a few of the grooms friends that were far too eager to participate.

The night before the couple celebrated their Sangeet with a series of dances and speeches that went from crying to laughing and cheering every few minutes. There was no doubt that everyone in the room was there to celebrate D & R. The Sangeet brings both families together for music, dancing, and performances that range from deeply moving to absolutely hilarious depending on who’s been rehearsing.

The Baraat was extra special because about half way through the processional the bride and her family joined the groom taking the party to a whole other place.

D and R’s ceremony was held outdoors, which meant natural light, open sky, and the kind of backdrop that doesn’t need anything added to it. The rituals of a traditional Indian wedding ceremony are rich with meaning, especially when you have families from different parts of India. These two worked on a fusion ceremony to blend traditions and give both sides of their family honor.

And then the party. If the ceremony is about reverence, the reception is about joy, and D and R’s guests came ready. SoCo Events created spaces that felt alive, and the dancing lasted as long as anyone would let it.

Multi-day Indian weddings are some of the most layered, meaningful, and genuinely fun celebrations we get to be part of. If you’re planning something similar, working with a great planning team and want a documentary team that knows how to move through each ceremony with both energy and care, we would love to talk.
