Downtown Cleveland Engagement

I’m big on “guidance”, not because I think people need to be told what to do but because I know that when I’m trying to plan something whether it’s what’s for dinner or what I’m going to wear… I do a lot better if I have some guidelines to follow.

On that note, here is your guideline for the day. If you have dogs, you should really find a way to include them in your epic Styled Engagement session. BONUS POINTS if you get them matching bow ties. 😉

Paige and Cory are very cool people. From the moment I met Paige, I knew I was going to like her but when I really got to sit down with her (over pie, at Rood in Lakewood no less) I was entirely sure of it. She cares deeply about other people, injustice, things that matter in the world… She is passionate about what she does and works so hard that when I’m scheduling a meeting with her I usually feel like I need to see if she’s slept in the last 48 hours before we chat. 😉

She’s also a bad a** lawyer in case you needed a full picture of her coolness.

Originally Cory reached out to me about photographing their proposal. Can I just say, you know a guy is alright when he’s planning a proposal like Cory did for Paige. Cory spent weeks planning the perfect surprise, which was a little tough considering the entire state was shutting down due to COVID. We went back and forth on the phone, as he worked out his perfect plan. He wanted to include the dogs (good move) and surprise her (an issue because of the state of the world and that Paige is quite smart!). He did a killer job creating a beautiful, unique moment, designed for Paige… even in the midst of hard circumstances. And she was extremely surprised when her best friend popped out with a Dora the Explorer wig on to congratulate them (what can I say, there weren’t a lot of bushes to hide behind 😂)!

Fast forward to their beautiful downtown Cleveland engagement session. We decided to do with two looks, one a much more relaxed feel that would include the dogs, Barley and Peeta. I LOVE when couples find a way to include puppies into their engagement photos. Because it’s A. a beautiful way to showcase the whole family and B. I get to play with the dogs… Emphasis on B. 😉

From there we did a quick change over and headed to downtown Cleveland for a much more upscale and classic engagement feel. I LOVE the fun that Paige and Cory had down here. The genuine laughs and smiles were just so real and you could tell the idea that they were getting married was sinking in by the second. We ended the night with a little Veuve Clicquot for them to celebrate and our final images once it was nearly dark were an absolute BLAST (pun totally intended) and such a fun celebration!! BUT I promise no Veuve Clicquot was hurt in the making of those images! 🙂

Paige and Cory, I am so beyond thrilled to walk along with you both on the way to your beautiful micro wedding. It has been an honor to get to know you better and I’m just a little excited to spend the week with you for your wedding! Thanks for being such beautiful humans, and letting me play with Peeta and Barley!
