Although I think it’s not any secret that my absolute love of photography comes from my love of weddings and love stories and although I’m grateful for each and every client that steps in front of my lens, my very favorite are, of course, my brides.

However, perhaps a lesser-known close second love of mine would be photographing high school seniors.
Allow me to explain why senior photography is my second favorite thing in the world to photograph….

The first reason would be that generally seniors are about to embark on the greatest adventure of their lives. Adulthood. 😉 Usually college and new adventures like that as well. But whatever they have in front of them, they are so full of hope and excitement. That is extremely fun to be around.

The second reason is that they are very full of energy and very slow to tell me that my ideas are slightly crazy. 😉

Perhaps the reason for this is that they are still in a season of life where they are slightly crazy, full of hopes and vision. Or perhaps it’s because their prefrontal cortex hasn’t fully formed yet… either way they’re more apt to go along with my less than conventional ideas… that makes me like them.
For instance, if I were hypothetically to suggest climbing a tree, running down an alley somewhere, or simply wandering through random places in West Palm Beach… Seniors are my favorites because they are usually up for the challenge.

This ridiculously beautiful young woman certainly wasn’t an exception. And honestly was probably one of my favorite seniors ever, simply because I just like her as a person. Also, I’m pretty sure that she’s my twin separated by… ehem, a few years.

As we were styling her senior photos, we talked about her love of awesome old architecture, color and all things different. As a person, she genuinely loves people, loves music, wants to spend her life serving others in Africa, and she’s just a joy to be around. What’s not to love?

Combine all of that with her beautiful face, absolutely gorgeous red hair and willingness to frolic down pretty alleys on Clematis street while drinking coffee from Subculture?? Be still my heart.

K, it was a pleasure beyond pleasure. I can’t wait for the next time we frolic with coffee.

      Everyone else, enjoy.
