Baby girls, baby girls.
Perhaps it’s that my own babies are both boys so it makes it extra special when I get to play with a little girl. But there was definitely an added eeeeeeekkkkk of cuteness to this little one’s lifestyle newborn photography session. Plus her mama is a masterful decorator! Let me tell you, if you need baby decorating ideas for your nursery, go ahead and give her a call. She’s got your back. In her family of two boys, baby number three as a girl was a welcomed gift. Her theme to welcome baby as well as baby’s nursery was all mermaid. Even down to the hand knit mermaid tail grandma made for baby J! Like I said
eeeeeekkkkk, I mean… too cute. 🙂
One of the things I love about lifestyle newborn photography is that you have the ability to see a little more of a glimpse into real life. Creating images of the memories that perhaps, at the time you are making them, might seem little more than sleepless nights and crying days. But when the years have come and gone and the little voices are getting bigger everyday, a glimpse into that daily start of life becomes something to be treasured. It’s so hard to see when you’re in the middle of it at times, but those moments, the memories, sleepless nights, it’s all part of the beautiful story that is our lives. Being able to create images of those stories is a privilege and a joy.
Newborn sessions are also special to me because it’s a bit of an um… process… working with small babies. So in other words it takes a lot of time. I always encourage my mamas when we are setting up their sessions to just try and relax. That child is going to pee on me, and fuss, and not do anything we want him or her to but that’s just part of the fun of it. They don’t scare me, I promise! It’s an opportunity to chat about life and sleepless nights with amazing mothers, some new, some on the 3rd mermaid baby… while they nurse in the glider and we try to get that baby sleepy for the 2nd time. I wouldn’t trade a minute of it.
Although being in the South Florida / West Palm Beach area affords us the opportunity to do outdoor newborn sessions at times, this mermaid inspired room was just too cute to pass up. I hope you think it’s as cute as I did. 🙂 Details, details… sigh.
