Words cannot describe how much I adore this couple. Or these maternity images. This couple means so much to my husband and myself so I was beyond excited to capture her maternity session. These people are genuine inside and out. They love God, they love people and they are going to be the most wonderful parents ever. It’s been such a fun journey watching them walk through her first pregnancy. The pregnancy itself has certainly not been an easy road. But it’s continued to build their character and their joy as they prepare to be first time parents. Eeeeeeekkkkkkk!! We are excited for them.
I adore her choice in outfits for this session. I love when we have time to have two clothing choices because it brings such a different dynamic to the shoot, which can be really fun when you’re doing pregnancy announcements or just choosing your images. I have also wanted to play with the maternity in the water forever. Forever. But where I come from even the water in summer is a bit frigid. So it was the first time I was able to, in good conscience, let a pregnant mama get wet. I did spare her the full dunking that was running through my mind because I thought she would appreciate keeping her hair and make up intact for the second outfit. 😉 It really was just a beautiful dress though. The material was very light and flowy which is just perfect and something to think about when you’re picking out what to wear on your maternity photo session.
We chose Stuart Beach and a park near that location for our second spot. Amazingly I happened to schedule their session on ‘national clean up the beach day’. The things you DON’T think about!! I always arrive at least 15 minutes before my clients will be there. I watch the light, see exactly where we’ll be making their images and make sure I have given plenty of time for any delays that might pop up. I walked out on the beach hoping they might be early. The sun, the clouds and this incredible tropical ocean was just more than you could ask for! There was not one person on the beach. It was perfect. Once they arrived, we walked back up to the same location I was just standing at. This time, there were 100’s of people standing on the beach. All were carrying trash bags and wearing rubber gloves. 😉 Those unforeseen moments simply give us more to laugh about and remember fondly. Plus, there was no harm done as not one garbage bag made it into an image! Although, I did text a dear friend who is a beautifully talented photographer in Miami, and said; “hmmm… I have learned two things today. Always wear bug spray and remember to Google for random events at the location I’ll be shooting at… just in case”.
To my dear friends; thank you for allowing me to be a part of preserving memories before your beautiful baby boy arrived and even more importantly, being a part of your lives. To everyone else…
