I always count it an extreme privilege to be a part of someone’s wedding day. Although I have been a lifestyle photographer for a long time, that part, to me, will never get old. There are, however, a few wedding days and couples that are just extra special. These guys fall easily into that category.
These two were just a joy to be around from the very beginning. Last week (you may remember) I blogged about their engagement photo shoot and the fun we had bonding over coffee and random animal attacks. Please see post for details. 😉 Today, I’m sharing a little bit of their wedding story with a few of my favorite images from their day.
If you’ve ever seen a couple truly, ridiculously in love, you might have a glimpse of these two. I’m pretty sure they didn’t even notice anyone else in the room because without a doubt they only have eyes for each other.
Jenna and Domenic decided on a first look, which although it’s a very personal choice, I’m always thrilled when my couples decide to do one. It gives them a special moment, with no one else around to connect with each other in a very special way. It’s always so beautiful to watch. Then, of course, it gives us the added benefit of having plenty of time to do portraits with the couple and wedding party without any rush or stress.
This wedding was awesome. The ceremony venue was at House of Refuge on the beach on Hutchinson Island. It had a rustic charm about the whole thing, but non traditional ‘rustic’ somewhere between rustic, boho, vintage, and eclectic. But her vision came to life so perfectly! As far as wedding planning goes, it’s always about the details. The little things that are oh so small can make the biggest differences. Jenna did such a good job bringing her vision to life. Everything tied together so well. So many of her little details were handmade items she’d collected over time, but none of it felt pieced together. It was simply very beautiful and one seamless love story.
The best thing about this south Florida wedding was, hands down, the people involved. Both the bride and groom were surrounded by such wonderful support and love. It was such a joy watching and listening to them play, laugh, and talk with their friends. Sharing life and support and love for each other. Exactly how a wedding day should be. I’m pretty sure I shed a tear or two during one of the many amazing speeches given. Each one was the perfect balance of hilarious laughter and deeply touching. And when the couple finished their first dance and broke out into a choreographed dance and lip sync to Love is an Open Door from Frozen, I’m pretty sure I was laughing so hard that tears were making it hard to see through the camera.
One of my favorite things is designing a couples wedding album. I can’t wait to get started on this one. And to deliver to them a tangible album that is so full of moments that should be held and looked through and cherished forever.
Jenna and Dom, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful wedding day. Congrats again.
Everyone else, enjoy.
As always, a joy to work with such fabulous vendors!
