Can you believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving? I cannot. As I sit here and type this, I am currently drinking an extremely festive peppermint mocha (as it should be), listening to Frank Sinatra holiday station on pandora (I know, illegal before Thanksgiving, we’re so close tho?!?!) and looking at a Christmas tree in the corner of a local coffee shop. I’m pretty sure all I’m missing for this to be perfect is snow outside of my window (we all know the south Florida winter situation is as bad as its fall one…)
But it’s close. Very close.
The holidays are some of my favorite time of the year. My. Favvvvvvorite.
So, in the midst of your Thanksgivings feasts and joy and the beginning of the “real” holidays… Haters, don’t hate, you know it’s true. I adore Thanksgiving as it is intended to be, a transition holiday. Because the next day you can decorate your Christmas tree which is the happiest time in our household all year long. It is a near sacred holiday at our house… everyone knows this. We spend the whole day eating, playing and decorating. We always end with ‘It’s a Wonderful Life” all cuddled up on the couch feeling thankful and in love with the little people that surround us.
Because, the people we surround ourselves with are in fact the thing that makes anything about the holidays beautiful at all. The beauty in those people and the love we have for each other makes the holidays what they are.
Today’s blog is short, just a sweet reminder that the people we love are to be cherished and squeezed on a regular basis. With images of some very special kiddos and their cousins that make my heart swell a million times and feel all ‘Christmas-ish’… I mean Thanksgiving-ish, of course…. Happy Thanksgiving friends, I have so much to be thankful for.
