Seriously. I’m not even really sure what to say here. Come on. How cute are they??
This mama and baby tea party was a part of a super fun day playing and working with a great team. This was one of those days that it felt like, is it humanly possible to fit one more thing in? Probably not. I was down in Miami with a great friend of mine that also happens to be a fabulous photographer who continually has crazy ideas that she ropes me into. Continually. What are friends for?? Those stories are going to deserve a blog of their own, however, I just had to share some of these sweet images from our early morning mini session.
This location was kind of a dream. I drove by it the first time, you would never know it was there if you didn’t know it was there. It’s an old Orchid farm that is now a historic site, I believe. Complete with old stone home, open field, flowering trees. Gor-geous. When we first arrived it was very early, dew all over the ground, butterflies everywhere in the field. I really wish I had a video to post of that morning. As you walked through the dew filled grass, the butterflies flew up in front of you to move out of your way. It was like something from a movie, picture perfect.
When our little darling here arrived, she was completely intent on wandering around and playing in the grass. Other than trying to keep her mostly clean, we were entirely happy to follow her around planning and snapping images. She was like a little movie star with a full on entourage. She didn’t mind.
I don’t usually include a ton of props in my version of family lifestyle photography, although of course I know many photographers who do it extremely well. But one of the things I really like when I’m thinking of children’s photography prop ideas (or including props for any session) is that it makes sense to what’s happening. I felt like that really worked well here. The beautiful vintage furniture and tea set was some added fun, and she jumped right in. Apparently playing tea with mama is one of her favorites. So. Stinking. Cute.
